I decided to move to the sleeker and faster model of my walkers in attempts to move about the house even faster!

Dad didn’t have to go to his wrestling match today, he got snowed in with me and mom! Yay! So he made us a nice breakfast and I had some pancakes, Isaac’s mom told her babies just love them, and I definitely do! I’ve gotten so good at feeding myself, now if only these stubborn teeth would come in!
Then mom said since dad was here to help she would let me attempt going on the hardwood floor, and boy did I move!

Well, in the last couple days I have moved from cruising to navigating (moving from object to object). This video doesn’t show it, but I’m definitely using my truck to get to the window. Mom will have to try to capture me doing that, she is just too scared to video me and not be there to catch me. When will she learn I’m such a big man, I don’t need her fussing over me!

Mom and dad decided since I’m cruising everywhere now it was time to cover those outlets. But, I might just be smart enough to figure them out! I’m still learning what “no” means, I’m definitely hearing it enough with these outlet covers! I’m still working on crawling, I’m tempted to move around at Gayle’s house just to take everyones socks off (I hate socks), any little thing helps. Won’t be long, today mom put me in my crib after she changed me to go wash her hands and when she came back I was standing up in my crib–another shock for mom! I’m just making them change everything around here!
Dad was at a wrestling tournament all day yesterday (and today) so mom and I have had some good quality time together. I spent the day trying to crawl, but to no avail. I did however pull-up on my tub on toys, let go, and stand for almost five seconds all by myself! Mom wasn’t able to get a picture of it without dad here to catch me. I’ve had my pincer grasp down for a while, but I’m starting to use and point with my index more.
Mom also had to thrown in a picture of me sleeping because I didn’t nap yesterday! Just call me No Nap Murphy!
We got good news from Wake Forest, they are happy with my progress, I still have to wear the helmet until March or so. We’ll go back in eight weeks to check my progress again.
I’ve been motoring around more, mom thinks I’ll be walking before I crawl or even cut my first tooth! I have a little swelling and indentation in my gums, so I think that stubborn tooth might be just around the corner. Meanwhile, I’ve been enjoying learning to feed myself with some Gerber puffs, it took some time to get used to them but they are becoming a favorite.
Well, Mom and I are off to enjoy our snow (ice) day!
I’m getting so good at this cruising thing I decided to scare mom and move from the couch to the coffee table…

Canton has been cruising on furniture unassisted and using his toy walker with some help for a couple weeks. Last night (1/15) he decided to venture off with his truck by himself. Enjoy!

Will these months ever slow down? Mom and Dad just cannot believe how I am growing. I’m tipping the scales at over 20 lbs now, I’m a big man!
Kathy at PT is so excited about all of my progress. Dad bought me a peanut ball to practice some of my stretches. I can pull-up and cruise the couch, but teeth and crawling are still no where to be seen. I’m a little backwards, but that just makes Mom and Dad love me even more! Watch out for how much I’ll change this month! 🙂
Lots of changes again this week! Mom and Dad went back to work, they miss me but I’m having too much fun at Gayle’s to know they are gone. Jaxon and Asa gave me an awesome knitted hat that keeps me warm AND fits over my helmet!
I rolled over from my back to my stomach unassisted the first time yesterday, Kathy at physical therapy was SO proud of me! Hopefully this leap will help me with the whole crawling and torticollis thing.
I’ve also had a couple days in which I’ve eaten over 50 ounces, so mom decided even though I don’t have teeth I definitely need more food. Since I want to feed myself so badly she tried some broken up Cheerios. I definitely noticed the different texture–as demonstrated in the pictures—but I liked the taste! I’ve been holding my own bottle for a while, but I’ve been really interested in cups that aren’t my sippy cup, so I’ve been drinking from an open cup, so much fun!
We go to Wake on the 19th–keep my nice smooth head in your thoughts!
