Canton qualified back in February for the National Speech and Debate Championship. After wrapping up Suffs on Sunday he headed to Richmond to prepare for four rounds on Monday and then two rounds on Tuesday. He found out he advanced from 300 kids to the top 60! So two more rounds immediately followed. While he did not advance to the round of 30 we couldn’t be more proud of him!! Most of those kids live and breathe speech, while Canton is so involved in theatre and choir. How many of those kids could say they were just coming off being the first high school boy to play Woodrow Wilson in Suffs? None! Always so proud of his brains, talent, and heart!
