Mrs. Cromer Had a Farm

Boy, Mom and Dad sure are lucky to have friends like Mrs. Cromer.  Jessica and Grady invited us over for dinner, but more importantly, I got to check out lots of animals!  I got to see some really sweet dogs, but I also saw chickens, a donkey, and I even got to sit on a horse!!  Jessica led me around so well, she even calmed down Mom when the donkey came running toward us.  She showed me some funny roosters, but I kept calling them ducks, and she let me touch and feed the donkey.  Then, after eating some of her yummy green beans, Grady got the horse and I SAT ON HIM!  I was sooo excited!  I grinned, laughed, and rubbed her mane.  Mom is so lucky to have such a remarkable friend to show me the ropes and teach me how to be a true Floyd man.  🙂

Zoooooooooooooooooo!

Oh my goodness!  I could not have had more fun than at the zoo!  I saw so many animals, I was pointing and talking up a storm!  Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpap, and Aunt Beth were sooo proud of me!   Even though is was over 100 degrees I didn’t cry the WHOLE time.  Mom said all other zoo trips will be downhill from this one because I’ll never be as good as I was this time!  I’m quite a troooper!

My favorite attraction was the Small Mammals House, I saw lots of interesting animals and it was inside.  The apes were pretty cool too.  They climbed across a rope 40 feet in the air without a net!  One even pooped from overhead right near us!  Mom and Dad will never forget the look of excitement and curiousity in my eyes and my squeals of delight, it is one of the best feelings they have ever had.  Thanks Grandpap and Grandma for a trip Mom and Dad will never forget!

Summertime..and the Livin’s Easy

Mom and I have been enjoying our days off together. We’ve had such fun doing all kinds of new things. One of my favorite new things to do is color/draw. I’ve made some messes, but that is okay, I’m learning. Mom ordered an easel for me too, I can’t wait until it gets here so I can draw all kinds of new creations.

I’ve also started standing on one foot holding onto something. The bath pictures don’t show up great but I’m standing on one foot trying to rinse the other…I’m such a smart man. I also learned to climb into the window sill–watch out world!

We went golfing a few more times, I even walked most of the first hole with dad–over 350 yards! I had a ball! I’m sure we’ll be up there a bunch more.

Dad got an IPad and I’ve fallen in love with that thing, I can work it better than mom! It has a See and Say and some flashcards that I like to use. I even repeated the word gorilla after seeing it on the flashcards last night! 🙂

I’m going to the National Zoo this weekend–can’t wait!

Hittin’ The Links

Whew, what a whirlwind two weeks. Mom has been crazy busy at school, but she is finally home with me!! Over Memorial Day Mom and Dad took me up to Great Oaks and I played some golf. I had a great time! I threw the ball in the hole, then I actually hit it in a few times! My favorite thing to do was take the flag out of the hole though. I have my own set of little clubs, but once I got a hold of Dad’s putter I would NOT let it go, I’m a BIG MAN and I wanted the big man putter.

Then on Friday (my last day at Mimi’s) we had fun on the slip and slide and going up to the high school. EVERYONE said I look just like DAD!

I have an exciting summer ahead of me, swimming lessons, a trip to the zoo, going to visit Grandma in FL, soooo much to do! Can’t wait!

Shaqton

Being such a little athlete I have learned to dunk, throw, and kick in the last couple weeks.  Dad wants me to be a wrestler, a soccer player for Aunt B, but I seem to have a knack for golf and basketball.  Who knows, I just amaze Mom and Dad every day!  Add “hi” to the growing list of words, hopefully they’ll catch it on video soon.  Enjoy the video of my madd ballin’ skillz…

Bye Grandma!

Grandma left to return to FL but I won’t forget the time we had together.  She taught me to high-five, use a straw, and climb on and off of my truck.  She took such good care of me while mom and dad were at work.  I had a fun time playing with her two dogs as well.  I said “dog” several times and learned to throw Jag a toy.  I’m so glad she spent this time with me.  Mom said we may even go see her in a couple months and visit the beach!  Wow!  Many thanks to Grandma for teaching me, caring for me, and showing mom what being a mom is all about!

It’s My Party!

What a great weekend we had celebrating my birthday.  I am such a lucky big man to have all these people come from so far away to see me!  I even had Jessica, Brian, Annemarie, and little Lilamae come see me and they didn’t even have to!  We enjoyed spending the day together, my stomach bothered me throughout the day but I was a trooper.  We had great food, presents, and cake.  Pride filled Mom as she watched me meticulously eat my cake instead of plastering it all over my face.  My evening was a little rough with new PT stretches, mom hitting me with my golf club, and a Roxy nip, but you would never know it, I’m a tough tough man.

I had to say goodbye to my aunt Becky this morning, we took lots of pictures in our Florida Gators attire.  So we started up the road to the airport, but then her flight was delayed and it allowed her to have lunch with us.  Instead of having a two-hour layover in Detriot she got to spend it with me!  We had lunch and I enjoyed a yummy smoothie!  Mal, Pap, Rhonda, and Harvey came back this afternoon and we got to spend a little more time together, I eventually warmed up to them and shared my high-fives with them (thanks Bec and Grandmal for teaching me!).  Mom wants to thank everyone for loving me so much and for guiding her along the way.  Can’t wait to see everyone again!

Happy Birthday Canton!

What a fun day! Grandma and Aunt Becky came to see me to celebrate my one whole year! We started the day with a trip to Sam’s and picking up Becky at the airport. I enjoyed my new carseat so much! We had a lot of fog here today and Becky’s flight was a little late getting in, but she made it.

We spent the afternoon playing, swinging (of course), and chasing three dogs! Aunt Becky taught me how to give her kisses and we decorated a little bit for my big party on Saturday! I also got to try some of Grandma’s famous spaghetti and garlic bread, YUMMY! No wonder mom loves it so much!

Mom was a little weepy today thinking back to all the changes we’ve had together and all that I’ve gone through, but that is just because she loves me so much. Dad also misses me being little, but he’s ready to start playing baseball. I know I’m so lucky to have such a supportive family around me, I can’t wait to see them all tomorrow!

Here’s to year number one!

51 weeks, etc…

Here comes a lot of pictures. Mom is sorry that she hasn’t updated this week, school has been keeping her pretty busy, but not as busy as I keep her.

New this week: I’ve learned to get myself up without holding onto anything, saying bye-bye more clearly, and throwing/rolling a ball back and forth with mom or dad. Dad got me some golf clubs that I’m trying to hit a ball with, I’ve done it a few times. They say I’ll be the next Lefty, because let’s face it, Tiger isn’t an option anymore.

Mom and I shared a nice day. It was pretty chillly, but I still managed to get in some swing time. Mom tells me every day, and even more so today, that she is so lucky to have me in her life. I’ve made her more patient and helped her to slow down and enjoy the small miracles day to day life give us. She also has a greater love for family all because of me! She cannot believe how this year has flown by and is so thankful for all the wonderful people in our lives that have made it even more enjoyable.

See everyone in just a few days! 🙂

The Great Outdoors

I’m learning all kinds of things on my new swingset.  I’ve learned to climb over the big step to get into my fort in the bottom and I’ve learned to slide!  It is super fun!  Mom and Dad help me get up and I just fly down, with close supervision of course.  I even try to turn around a climb back up.  Mom says I’m going to turn her gray, whatever that means.

I also visited one of Dad’s favorite places, the golf course.  He played in a tournament for SameFight this weekend.  I got to see my boy AJ and Mimi.  AJ is going to teach me all about golf soon!  Mom was trying to get a picture of me with Dad but I was pretty grumpy, then AJ came along and I started beaming!  We sure are lucky to have such wonderful people in our lives.

Then I met a new friend, Lilamae, she is just three weeks old.  Mom and Dad are amazed how much I have changed in such a short time, especially compared to such a little baby.  They don’t even know all that I have in store for them!
