My Very Own Swingset!

Wow! I cannot believe it!  My very OWN swingset–no more going in town for me!  Mal and Pap came down to help Dad finish my swingset.  They worked really hard, it was quite a job.  No major injuries, so I think it was a success.

Also this weekend I learned to turn off the light, flush the toilet, use the bainsters to step down the stairs instead of crawl down, and opened what will probably be my last can of formula!  SOOO many changes!  Mom and Dad are amazed by me each and every day!

I was so excited to try it out!  First I had to put my dumb shoes on, you can see me trying to take them off.  I laughed and sang and had a grand ole time.  That is, until Mom made me put a jacket on, and boy did I loose it!  Then Dad tried to put my on the slide and I had none of it, I wanted back on my swing.  Everyone said my smile was worth a million dollars and a million hours of work, they must really love me.

Thanks to Mal and Pap for traveling down and spending some quality time together.  Pap and Dad, thank you for working so hard, I have years of fun ahead of me thanks to you guys.

See everyone in 18 days!

Pool Party!

On Friday at physical therapy Mrs. Kathy let me venture in to the pool!  I adjusted really well!  First, I showed off my cool threads to all the ladies then Dad and I sat down at the edge of the pool.  I started splashing and went right in.  I only fussed a little the first time Kathy made me work.  I had such a great time!  I got a great workout too, I even went to bed an hour early!

Mom and Dad decided to go to Target the next day to buy me my very own inflatable pool.  Now, if only we could get out of our freeze warning I would be able to use it.  We also went to Home Depot and I fell in love with Dad’s new rubber mallet!  I also had fun on the deck moving my very own Canton-sized table (video to come) and of course, petting Roxy.  While we are on the deck mom went to go get my bath ready and I walked from the deck all the way upstairs all by myself!  I heard the water and just went moving (dad was with me though, don’t worry Mal).

Dad starting putting my swingset together too!  I watched him out the window and intently studied him as he put all the parts together.  Mal and Pap will be here next weekend to help.  Only 25 days until my birthday! 🙂

New Helmet

We went to get our new helmet today.  The people there are so nice and we are hopeful that this one will do its job!  It is custom made for just me and will address each of my bumps and dents.

Mal and Pap are coming down tomorrow to help put my swingset together!  Yay! 🙂

48 Weeks!

Wow!  Can you believe it?  11 months!  4 Weeks and everyone will be here to celebrate my birthday!

We had fun visiting the swings, you can see from one of the pictures how mad I was when mom and dad made me leave!  Then I practiced walking in the mulch, I did not like it, it felt strange in my hands.  I also had fun playing with my dog, scooting on a storage bin lid, playing in the spice cabinet, and of course, practicing walking!

Take Me Out to the Ballgame!

Mom, Dad, and I soaked up the beautiful weather at my very first VT Baseball game! I had the best time sitting and watching all the action. You know how much I love to move all over the place, but I was quite content to sit in-between mom and dad and relax. Mom and Dad told me all about this game, information that will come in handy when I’m the next great Yankee shortstop. I also enjoyed my own version of crackerjack (my puffs) and the 7th inning stretch.

After the game we headed down to the duckpond. Mom and Dad said they came to this place frequently during their time at VT to relax and enjoy the weather. I got a lot more out it though, I laughed and laughed as I watched the ducks eat bread and shake their feathers.

Then we went to Target to FINALLY get me a big-man carseat. Even though I’m still a few weeks away from turing to forward-facing, my old carseat it getting a little snug. I had a great time crawling in the box too. I can’t wait to take my first ride in my new seat.

See you in 32 days Aunt Becky!

47 Weeks

New this week—hitting the 23 lb barrier(man this kid is solid) and trying to stand using hands (not an object)

Happy Easter!

Mom, Dad, and I made the hike up the road and enjoyed a nice weekend with family. I really do not enjoy car rides, but it was worth the trouble. I got to see Grandma and Grandpap, Aunt Beth, and both sets of my great-grandparents!

It didn’t take me too long to get used to all the strange faces. I had a nice time walking around the yard with Grandpap all weekend. Mom and Dad had to take me to go buy some shoes since I’ll definitley be outside more in the coming weeks. I am NOT a fan of those things! Mom and Dad laugh at me and say I rake the ground like a horse does, but I’m just trying to get used to them.

Then we went over to Grandma Orndorff’s house and had a yummy Easter dinner! I enjoyed some green beans, mashed potatoes, and of course, sweet potatoes. Dad told me about this tradition in his family where everyone runs out the door to find these eggs hidden everywhere. Well, I showed off my new walking skills to find those things, everyone was so impressed. I found eleven eggs! I also got some gifts from Grandma and Grandpap and Mal and Pap. We had a fun time! I’ll see everyone again for my birthday! 🙂

46 Weeks!

What a week! We’ve been sick, but it hasn’t kept me from walking! I had fun at the playground and I’ve been visiting the spice cabinet instead of the pots cabinet, what fun! Here’s to another week! Mom and Dad just cannot believe they had their shower a whole year ago! See everyone in 6 weeks for my birthday!

The Can Stands Alone!

Man oh man did I suprise mom and dad today!  I have been taking about six steps for several weeks, last night I took ten.  Then today, it happened!  I took 15, then 17, then 30, then I was off!!!!!  I’m still wobbly, but boy, I don’t think I’ve ever seen mom and dad so happy!  They tell me there is no greater joy than seeing the person they love most accomplish something that was impossible just a few weeks ago.  Pride seems too simplimstic to describe what they are feeling.  Now I’m ready to go teetering off into the world.  Enjoy!

45 Weeks!

What a week!  I got my first bee sting yesterday–dumb bee 🙁  Mom took care of it.  We called Grandma and she said to put baking soda on it, once I decided it wasn’t for eating it helped a lot.  I was a trooper, mom felt a lot worse than I did.  But, I’m going to be a mountain boy, so it is bound to happen I guess.

I got a package today from the Conejito de pascua–that’s the Mexican Easter Bunny for those of you not as worldly as my aunt Becky!  As you can see by the pictures I’m a typical boy, throwing the clothes aside and going right for the toys!  Thanks so much aunt Becky!  See you in less than 50 days! 🙂

**Excuse mom on the picture–she got her numbers switched!
