Well, I’m on the other half of a year now, Mom and Dad just can’t believe it. Today I tried squash for the first time. I didn’t eat it with quite the gusto of my sweet potatoes, but I still managed to eat the whole container. I’ve also been practicing pulling up–cruising here I come!
Hangin’ Tough!
Canton is a much bigger man than anyone expected! Tonight, Canton decided he was through with needing Mom and Dad’s help to stand. He decided he just needed the edge of the couch to stand up high! Before we know it, he’ll be chasing Roxy around the house in no time!
I also got a new toy car that plays music and rolls around. Mostly though I like the taste of it!! I am also learning to play peek-a-boo! What a big weekend it has been!
6 Months!!!!!!
I am SIX WHOLE MONTHS OLD today! I started the day with stinkin shots at my doctor’s appointment. I’m 17 lbs 40z and 26.5 inches. Right on target for height and weight but I’m in the 92nd percentile for head circumference–thanks a lot for your big head mom!
Then I went to the high school to see all the wonderful people up there. Once we got back home I enjoyed my first attempt at real food! Sweet potatoes! I ate them up! Mom figured on feeding me about 1/3 of the container for the first time, I definitely ate up all 2.5 oz!!! I got a little fussy being contained in my high chair so Mom picked me up to hold and feed me, then I decided I wanted to feed myself and I got Mom messier than I was. ** Good luck in your marathon Aunt B!
As I sit here holding my big man I can’t help but reflect upon how our lives have changed. Our crazy Friday nights are now consumed with trying new foods and practing pincher grabs, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Thank you to all of those special people who have helped us get this far. Hard to imagine what Canton will be like in another six months!
My first parade!
This past Sunday, Mom and Dad took me to my first parade! I got to see lots of horses, tractors, and fire trucks! I wasn’t too excited to see them but I am sure that will change in the years to come. I also celebrated my 26 week birthday and this Friday I will turn 6 months! Mom and Dad can’t believe it’s already been 1/2 a year. I also spent some quality time with my new toy. I have the traditional baby stacking ring toy and I am already a pro at it!
Playground!
Mom and Dad took advantage of the warm weather (65 degrees!) to take me to the playground for the first time. I liked swinging but I wasn’t much into anything else (I’m just not big enough yet, won’t be too long)! Then we went back to the parkway, I greatly enjoyed learning about trees and feeling the branches.
I’ll be sixth months on Friday! Mom and Dad were looking at some videos today of me in the hospital feeling nostaglic…they just don’t know all the bigger changes I have in store for them!
25 Weeks!
Quite an exciting week with Halloween and getting adjusted to standard time (this has been quite a struggle!) Most importantly I finally “said” ma-ma (11/3), I don’t really know what I’m saying yet but I’ve been babbling da-da for weeks and I think mom was feeling slighted. Almost six months–Mom and Dad will have to start babyproofing soon!
Trick or Treat!
What a holiday! Dressing up and decorating pumpkins! Mom and Dad decided that I needed some time to myself to explore my creative side, so I got to use a marker to decorate my pumpkin, instead of Dad doing it for me. No children were harmed in the creating of this pumpkin (minus the marker nose).
I just got back from my first time treat or treating! 🙂 I had a great time dressing up in my costume from Aunt Becky. I got to see Gayle and my boy AJ! What a great day! 🙂
Happy Halloween!
Mom and Dad have already had several photo requests for what I have been doing all day, so here’s the first round. I started out the day trying oatmeal cereal for the first time, I liked it A LOT, it has a much more interesting taste and texture than boring ole rice cereal. Then Mom and I studied my pumpkin, we’ll be decorating it in a bit. Later they put me in my pumpkin otfit to get ready for carving! More pictures to come later!
Parkway Adventures
Mom, Dad, and I took advantage of the beautiful fall weather to take a ride on the parkway. I had my first encounters with leaves and WIND! It was so windy today it almost knocked me over! I enjoyed seeing all the colors and cruching through the leaves (luckily mom stopped me before I put them in my mouth). I also got to see Buffalo Mountain, I’m a true Floyd boy now!
23 Weeks!
More changes have been the story of my 23rd week. Dad bought me a piano I can kick with my feet, since I’m so into standing and stomping. In addition, not only am I sitting better, talking TONS, but I’m starting to “swim”–looks like crawling will be right around the corner.
