Check Kids

Canton attended his first picinic today as we said goodbye to my principal.  I’m so lucky to work with such a great group of people, and I feel blessed to have so many more people in our lives that love Canton.

This year at school five boys were born (only a 3% chance of this occuring by the way!).  Here is Canton with his new friends (from left to right and in birth order with the moms) Drew, Mac, Isaac, Canton, and Camden.  Canton met Mr. Greco who took such good care of us while I was pregnant, and he also got to see Jessica and Angie again!  Mike and I are quite proud of him, he didn’t cry the whole time and seemed to enjoy himself!  He looks forward to playing with his new friends again!

Baby’s First Jamboree

I LOVE music, so mom and dad decided to take me, as well as Becky and Ben, to Floyd’s Friday Night Jamboree. I enjoyed the tunes and won the heart of all the townfolk. Aunt Becky leaves tomorrow for her new job in California, I’m so happy I got to spend so much time with her. She helped me with rolling over more and taught me all about being a Florida Gator, and some funny stories about mom too. I’ll miss you Becky, thanks for being a wonderful aunt!!

The Incredible Shrinking Car Seat

As we continue to marvel over our blessing that is Canton we came across a picture of Canton in his car seat on the day we brought him home (5/15/09).  Seven weeks later, we have our big man, so alert and interacting with the world around him.  We can’t wait to see what the next seven weeks bring (except returning to work!).

Happy 4th of July!

Even though grandma and Becky left me I’ve had a great past couple days.  Mom and Dad’s anniversary was on Thursday, so their friends watched me for an hour while they went out to dinner.  I got to meet my new friends Collin and Abby, we had a great time.

On the fourth mom and dad took me out for my first trip to Floyd, it was also my first trip in my stroller.  I had such a fun time meeting all kinds of interesting people and listening to some great music.  We left before the fireworks went off so they didn’t hurt my ears, but we could see them from the house, so it worked out well.

Grandma’s Here!

Grandma arrived yesterday, I am so happy to see her!  We have had a great time hanging out, she is amazed how much I have changed.   Becky got to see me roll over and has given me some more workouts to try.  She leaves for California for her new job soon, so I am so happy she came to see me!!  Grandma and Becky leave tomorrow, I am going to miss them a lot!

Aunt Becky Has Arrived!

I’m super busy now that aunt Becky and Mr. Ben are here, but I wanted to post a few pictures for everyone to see.  I put my Florida Gators shirt back on just for her, you can see my opinion has changed since the last time I wore it.  Grandma will be here tomorrow!  I know these two will keep me busy!

Six Weeks and Rolling Over

I’m six weeks old today!  Mom sure is glad she has the rest of the summer to spend with me instead of going back to work.  I  impressed mom and dad with a new trick on Monday (6/22)– rolling from my stomach to my back!  Mom and dad were thrilled when it happened, they think it is funny how little tasks like this are such milestones to them, just wait until I can walk and talk!

Here are some of mom’s attempts to grab a picture of one of my many smiles.  The rest of these are pictures from today (my third day of rolling from my stomach to my back).  You can see how I move so well all over the place, I even ended up in the pole of my activity gym one time!

Happy Father’s Day!

Dad’s first Father’s Day was an amazing one!  I started the day by giving the best gift of all – sleeping from 10:30pm to 4:30am!  Oh how six hours of continuous sleep is such a luxury for Mom and Dad. 🙂  Mommy and I had earlier planned to give Dad a great Father’s Day.  I picked out a frame with my name on it, some Father’s Day golf balls, and best of all, a SuperDad t-shirt!  All we need now is a cape!

I spent the rest of the day rocking out with Dad, having some serious conversations, playing with Mom and Roxy, and going for a walk in my new carrier!  The carrier seemed a little big for me still but Dad gave it a try anyways.  Once the day was over, I curled up in my swing, my favorite place to sleep, and took a long, well deserved nap.

Dad told me that being a Dad means more than words can explain or any single day can give meaning to.  He said once I was in his arms for the first time, his world completely changed and gave new meaning.  Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads out there!

More Visitors!

Uncle Jesse left to go back to Florida yesterday, but Mal and Pap were still here and came by to see me, Jessica and Grady did too.  I’m very lucky to have so many great people in my life.  This week is also the first time I haven’t cried getting my bath, so we’re including an after-bath picture as well.
