Canton had quite a day!
He woke up around 4am with quite a cough and didn’t go back to sleep until about 6:30am. When I woke him for school he said that he did not want to go, but then he said “Oh, well I have to go to Makers, so I”ll go to that.” Since he offered it up and having the tough mama I had, I knew it would be best for him to not use his cough as an excuse not to do anything (like daddy 🙂 ) So, I let school know he wasn’t going to be there and off we went.
In Makers class he made a spaghetti tower that reached 41 inches, the second highest in the class! The only help I gave was in tearing masking tape, to assist with those fine motor skills. Before we knew it it was time for Geography.
In geography class they discussed the history of transportation from Europe to North America. While the instructor was drawing Europe and America on the board Canton reminded him to include the UK, Iceland, and Greenland! HA! He answered lots of questions and made a compass rose.
Since Liberty was such a trooper we decided to stay for sewing class. Now, I’m not quite the seamstress Aunt Becky is, I’ve never sewed in my life! So, I wasn’t too much help in this class. So, with help from the teacher, Canton learned about safety of the machine, how to thread the spool/bobbin(?), reverse thread, and using the pedal. He also used the hand crank to stop the machine and turn when needed! All this led to making a bean bag! He was soooooo proud!
School as been getting ratings from 2/10 to 8/10, mostly 5s or 6s. Today according to Canton, “Oh definitely 102/100, bonus points for such a great day!”
