T-Ball!

Canton started Tball on 4/16! He had a little trouble warming up, when we first got there there were no rules established and he was pretty upset, but once things got under control he had a great time. He cheered for his teammates and even hit the ball to the outfield!

Can’t Stump CANton

Canton and Dad went to another star talk last night at JMU. Needless to say he had a great time and we are so thankful to the JMU faculty for taking such an interest in him!

About 200 people came to hear about the stellar undead and all the very cool things we are learning as a result! Canton wasn’t afraid to speak up in front of everyone, and even correct the speaker when he forgot Lithium on the Periodic Table! OMG, what is this kid going to do in K next year?

He asked the speaker a question about VY Canis Majoris while the college students surrounding us looked the big star up on their phones to see what he was talking about! 🙂 Afterwards, Dr. Virani spoke with Canton for a while and some of his students tried to stump Canton, giving him all kinds of questions, ranging from space to elements, which he knocked out of the park of course!

The faculty invited him up on stage to take a picture with Dr. Ransom and the physics department!

Thank you to the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO)’s Dr. Scott Ransom and JMU’s Dr. Virani for a great presentation!

Easter Egg Hunt 2014

Canton and Liberty dominated the neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt this year.  Canton took off in search of eggs and found several very quickly, far away from any of the other hunters. Liberty spotted one in a tree and reached right for it! She also found a purple one on the ground near the soccer goals! 🙂 All good practice for GGs next weekend!

Liberty Is NINE Months

Liberty is growing so quickly and moving all over the place! She’s really taken off with her crawling, especially when it comes to following Canton around. She tried crawling on Nanny’s cold tile and definitely noticed the temperature and difference in traction! She is great at cruising too, not sure if she’ll beat Canton’s walking at 10 months but she’ll do it before July I’m sure.

She pretty much has the best fine motor skills of any baby I’ve ever seen. She is a pro at finding anything and everything off the floor. During her time here in FL she has Rhonda rolling with laughter over playing with her hands and acting like she has hair between her fingers.

No teeth to report on, but she is still a great eater. She’s tried yogurt and a few more fruits and veggies. Pears and oatmeal are still her favorites.

She’s been waking up a lot during the night while practicing standing, but generally she is sleeping from 10-630, so I can’t complain too much.

Liberty still is much more laid back than big brother. She is usually SO happy and loves to laugh, until she can’t get where she wants and then watch out!

She’s been doing a much better job at letting people besides me hold her, still can’t say separation anxiety is gone, but it’s much more manageable.

Liberty doesn’t say too much while big brother is around, but get him out of the room and she jabbers all over the place. She can say “mama” of course as well as “da-da”, “bruh bruh” which is for Canton, and we’ve heard “Hi” a few times, but not enough to say it’s a word I think.

We’re very lucky to have our sweet (and LONG) girl!
