Check Kids

Canton attended his first picinic today as we said goodbye to my principal.  I’m so lucky to work with such a great group of people, and I feel blessed to have so many more people in our lives that love Canton.

This year at school five boys were born (only a 3% chance of this occuring by the way!).  Here is Canton with his new friends (from left to right and in birth order with the moms) Drew, Mac, Isaac, Canton, and Camden.  Canton met Mr. Greco who took such good care of us while I was pregnant, and he also got to see Jessica and Angie again!  Mike and I are quite proud of him, he didn’t cry the whole time and seemed to enjoy himself!  He looks forward to playing with his new friends again!

Baby’s First Jamboree

I LOVE music, so mom and dad decided to take me, as well as Becky and Ben, to Floyd’s Friday Night Jamboree. I enjoyed the tunes and won the heart of all the townfolk. Aunt Becky leaves tomorrow for her new job in California, I’m so happy I got to spend so much time with her. She helped me with rolling over more and taught me all about being a Florida Gator, and some funny stories about mom too. I’ll miss you Becky, thanks for being a wonderful aunt!!

Creeping Along

Canton is getting SO strong!  He continues to push his way across his activity gyms (with assistance of course), you can see his progress moving in the different pictures and he is working on rolling to one side!  He also has some new baby bird friends living under our deck which have grabbed his attention.  I’ve also included a couple sleeping pictures, since everyone loves those!

Watching, grasping, and growing

I continue to enjoy tummy time, watching my reflection, and working on my grasping skills.  Mom and Dad are pretty wiped out from the last couple days, I’ve been eating a lot more, although they’re tired, they’re glad I’m growing and becoming so strong!

Biker Baby

Mom has been telling me all about my late great uncle Gregory, seems I have a lot to live up to with my middle name.  Great aunt Rhonda gave me the Harley Davidson shirt I’m wearing because uncle Greg loved bikes, they spent lots of time riding, even biking from VA to Daytona for their honeymoon.  In some of the pictures you can see me showing off my new skill of holding my own bottle (I can’t really hold it, only for about five seconds when I try to reach for it, but I’m well on my way!)  Thanks Rhonda, I hope I can make you proud!  🙂

Pat a cake or Patty cake?

As Canton has been learning new things, one thing his Mom and Dad have taught him is Patty Cake.  Now we need everyone’s help in deciding which “Patty Cake” song to teach him.  Please give us your best Patty Cake song answer below while you check out Canton learning his Patty Cake steps!

A New Man…

Yesterday Canton was nine days old, and he looked like a whole new man to us!  He has spent the last couple days showing off his new bigger face and grasping some toys on his activity gym–we’re quite impressed.  The last picture shows how mad he was at us for making him work so hard, he decided he wanted to wear his “off to grandma’s shirt”.  Canton misses you, but we’ll see you in a few weeks grandma!

I want to see too!

Today was a pretty busy day, but Sean and Sara brought by a delicious meal for us so we didn’t have to cook, many many thanks to the Sharps!

Canton, Mommy, and Daddy were spending some quality Tummy Time today when Canton decided he wanted to see what else there was around him.  So being the big 8 day-old man he is, he decided to lift his head off the mat and explore the world!  It was only for a moment but Daddy was able to take a picture at the right moment!   Next week is his ABCs, followed by bear hunting.

New bed and new threads

Last night Canton spent is first night in his crib and really liked it!  He only woke up twice and let his Mommy and Daddy get some much needed rest!  He also signed his letter of intent with Va Tech which he made public by sporting his VT hat!  Here comes All-ACC 1st team 2029!
