Eight Weeks

Liberty is really growing! Can you believe it has been eight weeks? Our favorite moment of the week—she’s sleeping 7 hours! I still have to get up and do some mommy duties but I’m starting to feel like a normal person again! 😉

Canton has drawn lots of pictures of our family this week and loves to draw his arms BIG to hug Liberty—how sweet! I was so afraid of how he’d react, he is trying to toe the line a bit more, but it has been such a blessing to see them together. He’s so gentle with her and has even taken on some chores around the house, like feeding Roxy!

Hard to believe she has her two month check up next week!

Seven Weeks

Liberty’s seventh week has been filled with smiles and squeals of delight, she especially loves her bouncy chair, but not as much as being held.  She’s creeping towards 11 lbs and is over 22 inches!

Canton has been playing the role of reporter lately.  He loves recording videos to tell what is happening “news wise” around the house and especially in space. See video below…just be aware, camera work of a 4 yr old

Liberty is Six Weeks!

We thought we’d put them in the same outfit for six weeks (sorry it’s blue Rhonda, but we did have purple socks!).  Despite being smaller than Canton when she was born, Liberty is bursting at the seems in this outfit!  She’s been sleeping really well, up to 5-6 hrs at night and still so sweet!

A Hiking We Will Go!

Who has two thumbs and LOVES Aunt Becky and Uncle Ben?

THIS GUY!

Here to tell you about Canton’s day hiking Massanutten Mountain, special guest blogger:  BECKY!

The three muskateers completed the 6 mile Massanutten Rim Trail with Canton giving us a big surprise with how well he hiked. He only needed piggy back rides for about a mile total on the trip. Multiple hikers along the way stopped to comment on Canton’s rugged camo hat and he soon told them all about his new Camelbak which helped keep him hydrated along the way. Throughout the adventure Canton learned about how trails are marked by spotting “blue clues” and making good choices in steps such as large, flat rocks and dirt instead of wobbly, pointy rocks. Canton enjoyed the view from the top and thought it was pretty funny that we were higher than the birds and that semi trucks looked so tiny from up high. The highlight of the trip was probably holding a millipede and feeling all the tiny legs. In Canton’s words “climbing up the mountain was pretty fantastic because I learned about trail markers in the mysterious forest.”

Liberty’s One Month

It has been one whole month since our sweet girl came into the world.

Liberty is a GREAT baby, we really are quite lucky.  She is doing well on her milestones, she loves to focus on a face, roll partway from her stomach to back, (even though Mike has seen it multiple times the whole way) she brings her hands together well, bats at objects, but our favorite is her smile.

She’s sleeping about five hours at her longest stretch, which is quite a welcome from those every two hours days.  She’s weighing in at about 9lbs 10oz and 21.25 inches.

Liberty is pretty lucky, to celebrate her month (and to ease the pain of mom going back to work) Becky and Ben are here for the week!!

Here’s to all the amazing months to come! 🙂

Liberty is FOUR WEEKS

Seriously?  How does this happen?

They say August is the Sunday of Summer, it seems that time is just flying for our sweet girl.  The first few weeks of Canton seemed to take forever, but this time around it has amazed us how much she has grown already.  Tipping the scales at 9.5 lbs she’s already grown like 50%!  Hug ’em tight, it flies.
