Cascades

We had another adventure today! Mom, Dad, and I ventured over to Giles Co to hike the Cascades! I was so excited to wear my boots because mom doesn’t let me wear them with shorts! I stomped around all morning saying “boots for the waterfall”. Then we were off!

Cascades is a two-mile hike to a 70 ft waterfall, I was just happy to be outside. We took the upper trail both times because the lower one is pretty narrow and mom and dad figured all the mud would be a disaster! So even though it was a pretty steep incline I walked 1.25 miles on the way up and the whole way back down! (As mom is writing it is currently 8pm and I’ve been asleep since 4:30–that never happens!!)

I just loved the watefall, not because of the beauty, but because of all the stairs I got to climb! I also saw some cool dogs swimming in the water!

When we left mom and I “ran” a lot of the way down and did that funny kid yell as we ran–it was the best time!

Happy Easter

We had a great Easter weekend! We are quite lucky to have such a wonderful family.

I finally said “Grandma” instead of all the other things I’ve been calling Grandma, which made her pretty happy. Poppy and I played and played and raced and raced. Aunt Beth gave me a Thomas train for Easter, which definitley made my day. I warmed up to G.G. (Great Grandma) pretty quickly too.

At GG’s house we had a yummy dinner, I ate lots of beans and strawberries. We also had our annual Easter Egg Hunt and I won the prize egg! I found it under one of the statue geese’s hats!

Can’t wait to see everyone in a few weeks for my birthday!

Mr. Canton Goes to Washington

Saturday (4/23/2011) Mom, Dad, Mal, Pap, and I ventured to Washington DC. I had THE BEST TIME EVER. The pictures aren’t really going to show that because every time we stopped moving I screamed my head off and shouted “GOOOOOOOO” a million times. It was a beautiful day, the weatherman called for horrendous storms, I’m soooo glad he was wrong!

I just loved the Washington Monument. I said “I’ll race you to the momument” over and over again! Then, we headed to the WWII Memorial, and on to the Lincoln. I absoultey was in awe of Mr. Lincoln. I climbed the stairs and just stared and stared at him. After we left mom asked me what I saw and I said “Lincoln upstairs in the chair” everyone was pretty impressed. Later, we made our way to the Capitol where I met a couple of ducks and made a wish in the fountain.

Despite getting lost in Georgetown we had a great time. After we got back to Mal and Pap’s Pap showed me his tractors and I played with one of Nanny’s old toys.

I’m thankful Mal and Pap came with us. All in all, a pretty great day.

Mabry Mill

Dad, Mom, and I ventured to Mabry Mill off the Parkway today. I was just so happy to be outside they could have taken me anywhere! I saw lots of water and the BIGGEST duck/goose I have ever seen!

I Heart Play-Doh

New obsession: Play-Doh! We’ve been stuck inside for the past few days so mom has been busy thinking of activities we can do. We busted out the paints and play-doh this weekend. I have never played with play-doh before, it was so much fun! I asked mom to make some circles and dad came to join us and he made me!! I thought that was hilarious! I kept pointing to his man and saying my name! Mom likes it because play-doh is a lot cheaper than Thomas!

Down by the River

We’ve been out as much as possible when the weather is nice. Wednesday we took a stroll down to the river, I kept saying “water please, water please”. I had a great time down there!

Friday we had a birthday party to go to. I had a lot of fun playing basketball with dad. Then some girl took my ball and mom made me do the whole sharing thing (see crying face).

It is raining this morning and I keep singing “Rain Rain Go Away” but I don’t think it is working. I wonder what mom has in store for today?

Picture Perfect

Mom dragged me to get our pictures taken today. Everyone in the place just GUSHED over me. They thought I was the most well behaved almost 2 year old they had ever seen! The manager wanted to take me home! Mom and Dad had to agree that I was quite well behaved and agreeable, mostly because I’m pretty much the best baby ever.

Afterwards, we went to Cracker Barrel and I ate two whole pieces of sausage, eggs, apples, and some bread. I love my breakfast food!

Enjoy the pictures!

Out Like a Lion

I sure got used to being outside with some of our 70 degree temperatures! However, this week has decided to NOT be as nice. We’ve been stuck inside because of rain, and even SNOW! Luckily, I still have gymnastics to run off some of my energy. We even went up to the high school gym to shoot some hoops, I had a great time! I sure hope April is nicer! Can’t wait to go see Nanny so I can be outside ALL the time! 🙂

Pretty Much a Perfect Day

Mom, Dad, and I traveled to Charlotte on Friday to see Dr. Arnone. I just love him! I say “Arone head Friday” for days leading up to our trip. I’m such a big man when I go in there too! I help him crank down his table to my level, put on that patient paper, and throw it away when we’re finished.

After Dr. Arnone’s we went to pretty much the best place ever: Discovery Kids! It had everything you can dream of that kids would love to do! The pictures can’t even do it justice!

After that, since it was still over 70 degrees, we went down town to get some Mexican (my favorite), and listen to the jamboree! I even got my second haircut! (see video below) Then, we went to the new ice cream shop in Floyd and I got an old fashioned strawberry smoothie to split with mom, and I ate more than she did! It was delicious!!!!!!!!

Wow! What a great day!

Transportation Museum

Mom, Dad, and I went to the Transportation Museum in Roanoke day. It was so beautiful outside, I sure do like this spring forward stuff, they didn’t even make me take a nap!! I looked for Thomas the whole time, but it was okay I guess.
